How to Cancel Facebook Marketplace Order

Buyer’s remorse is something that we’ve all experienced. If you accidentally (or too quickly) placed an order on Facebook Marketplace, you can still cancel it.

If you’re a seller on Facebook Marketplace and receive an order you can’t fulfill, you can cancel your order too.

However, there are restrictions on when and how you can cancel orders. This guide shows you how to cancel Facebook Marketplace orders 一 both as a buyer and seller.

Things to know before canceling a Facebook Marketplace Order

If you’re a buyer

• Canceling one item results in the cancellation of the whole order.
• You can only cancel your Facebook Marketplace order up to 30 minutes after placing the order.
• If you’re late in canceling your order, you may still be able to return items within 30 days of purchase. However, this refund policy does not apply for final sale items.

If you’re a seller

• You can only cancel Facebook Marketplace orders sold with checkout and shipping, provided the order isn’t marked as “Shipped.” Facebook won’t charge you or the buyer a cancellation fee for such order cancellations.
  You should also know that once the order is marked as “Shipped,” you can’t cancel it. You’ll need to enter the tracking number after the status update to get paid.
• If a buyer requests an order cancellation and you still fulfill the order within seven days, the order will be canceled automatically.
• Canceling orders can affect your delivery performance.
• Refusing cancellation requests affects your delivery performance.

Cancel a Facebook Marketplace order as a buyer

On desktop

1. Log in to your Facebook account on your preferred browser.
2. Click your profile image on the top right.
3. Click Settings & privacy.
4. Select Settings.
5. Click Meta Pay (formerly Facebook Pay) in the left menu panel.
6. Select Activity from the options.
7. Select the order you wish to cancel.
8. Click Cancel order and then choose one of the reasons for canceling your order.
9. Confirm the cancellation by clicking on Cancel.

On the mobile app

1. Click the hamburger icon on the top right, then tap on Marketplace.
2. Tap the profile icon at the top and then select Orders.
3. Select the order you want to cancel.
4. Tap Cancel order and give a reason for cancellation.
5. Select Cancel order to confirm cancellation.

Cancel a Facebook Marketplace order as a seller

On desktop

1. Log in to your Facebook account in the browser.
2. Click the Marketplace icon at the top of your screen or the left side menu panel.
3. Click Your account.
4. Click Sending orders.
5. Select the order you wish to cancel.
6. Click Cancel order.

On the mobile app

1. Click the hamburger icon on the top right and then tap on Marketplace.
2. Tap the profile icon at the top.
3. Tap Sending orders.
4. Choose the order you wish to cancel.
5. Tap Cancel order.
