Things to Know before Canceling an Order on Etsy
If You’re a Buyer
- It is up to the seller to accept or deny canceling your order request.
If You’re a Seller
- Before canceling your order as a seller, ensure that your cancellation order meets Etsy’s cancellation policy requirements.
- Make sure you request refunds for any unused shipping labels for your order.
- Notify your buyer about order cancellation using Etsy Messages.
- The buyer receives a full refund upon cancellation.
- The buyer can still leave a review up to 48 hours after cancellation.
- If your buyer has made a payment using Etsy Payments, you don’t need to do anything as the refund is processed automatically. If your buyer has used other payment methods such as PayPal, you’ll need to refund them using that method.
- You won’t be charged any additional fees for canceling. Etsy automatically credits you the listing and transaction fees for the order.
